I have spent most of life with horses and other types of livestock and animals.   My parents and other family members have always owned and loved many types of animals.

I grew up with and around cutting and racing bred Quarter horses.   I showed cattle, sheep and swine during my high school years.   I was heavily involved with FFA and 4-H and held offices in those clubs.

I became involved with Arabian horses in 1981 and bought my first purebred mare, Brooks Durife in 1982.   I began showing and riding her in open competition when we were not working cattle or going on trail rides.   I graduated high school in 1983 and immediately began college and started a career in science education.  

In 1991, I met  Bill, we shared the same love for horses.  My husband did not grow up on a farm or ranch but still wanted to own horses and property.  It was at this time in my life I began to take breeding and raising Arabian horses seriously.

We started out with my old mare, Brooks Durife, my husband's mare, Gilbriar Traditia and our first stallion, Diamond Chaparral.  We added more mares to our herd and it wasn't long until we were a bonified breeding farm.   Our bloodlines and goals have changed little since our start in 1992 or my introduction to the Arabian as far back as 1981.  We are still breeding Arabian horses that you can work and have fun on.   Horses that are sound and sane at the same time and horses your kids and grandmother could handle and ride.

It wasn't our goal or intent to raise show horses or have foals from our program winning National titles, it of course wasn't a shock either.  We instinctly knew we had good horses and a sharp eye for breeding, when those two aspects join forces good things are going to be the result.
